owl love

today's weather was nice and sunny that i decided to venture out and explore my neighborhood. with my trusty little ipod, listening to zee avi, i found a garage sale in one of the tiny streets out in glen park and found this charming vintage owl, a new addition to my porcelain owl collection.

i named him oscar. i asked the lady who was doing the garage sale if she had any idea as to what era oscar maybe from, unfortunately she had no clue. although she mentioned

that her mother had him since she was a little girl. anyway, i got oscar the owl for only $8.50. such a pretty sweet deal, right? yeah, i think so too.

here he is, oscar the owl, in my bookcase. it's his new home, i've decided.

i also came upon this cute little store called perch and found a lot of interesting items from fun and unique jewelries, to sustainable products by local artisans, to quirky letterpressed greeting cards, to soaps and candles, to chocolates - pretty much any little knick-knack you could think of! the staff are also very friendly especially zoel, who is one of the owners. he's a sweetheart. i think it's one of my new favorite stores now. so if you have the time and you're in the neighborhood, do visit them and i guarantee that you will go crazy of this store's cuteness!
